ILLINOIS CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE SURVEY SUMMER 2008

In early July 2008, the Chicago Faith Coalition delivered a Policy Position Survey to the 46 Illinois candidates running for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. The survey questions drew on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Conventions, United Nations Resolutions, the Cluster Munitions Convention and statements by the then Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Implicit in the questions was the Abrahamic faith commonality that all are created in the image of God and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. A copy of the survey can be reviewed, downloaded and printed here. On August 17, 2008 a Summit was held at Elmhurst College on Justice, Peace and Reconciliation in Israel and Palestine. Over sixty faith leaders and individual activists participated in this Summit. An overview of the Summit can be reviewed, downloaded and printed here. A PowerPoint presentation given at the Summit can be reviewed, downloaded and printed here. A Summary Report of the Policy Position Survey in table format can be reviewed, downloaded and printed here.
